1.  EMBROIL (verb)
Meaning:  to involve in conflict or difficulties
Synonyms : enmesh, ensnare, ensnarl, entangle.
Antonym : emancipate, liberate, acclimate, relieve.

2.  SPLURGE (verb)
Meaning: to spend extravagantly or ostentatiously.
