Every year, Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) Examination to recruit candidates for General Central Service Group-C non-gazetted, non-ministerial posts in various ministries, departments, and offices of the Government of India. For the year 2025-26, SSC has announced 1075 Havaldar vacancies through the SSC MTS 2025 Notification PDF released on 26th June 2025. SSC MTS Recruitment 2025

The Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff (MTS) Examination is a national-level exam conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) to recruit candidates for various non-technical positions in different ministries, departments, and offices of the Government of India. Every year, lakhs of SSC aspirants, after completing their 10th class appear for the exam to get shortlisted for the following posts.

Staff Selection Commission conducts the SSC MTS (Multi-Tasking Staff and Havaldar Exam) every year and the selection process is as follows:

Through the SSC MTS Recruitment 2025, the SSC has provided golden job opportunities for candidates who have completed their matriculation and are looking for a stable job. The selection process for the SSC MTS 2025 Exam comprises the written exam and physical exam (only for the post of Havaldar). SSC MTS Exam Date 2025 Out

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has already notified the SSC MTS Exam Date 2025 for Paper 1 along with the SSC Calendar 2025. The SSC MTS computer-based exam will be conducted in multiple days and shifts from 20th September to 24th October 2025. SSC MTS 2025 Eligibility Criteria

There are three major criteria that a candidate is required to fulfill to be eligible for the SSC MTS 2025 Exam. Before filling out the applications for SSC MTS Exam, the candidates must know the minimum required ssc mts eligibility criteria in terms of nationality, education qualification, and age limit. Let’s have a look at all these three criteria:

Nationality/Citizenship

A candidate is required to be

  1. A citizen of India
  2. Subject of Nepal
  3. Subject of Bhutan
  4. Tibetan Refugee
  5. Person of Indian Origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Afghanistan, Kenya, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam.

Age Limit (as on 1/8/2025)

The age limits for both SSC MTS and Havaldar posts as per the Recruitment Rules of various User Departments are:

Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS)- A candidate must be a minimum of 18 years of age and must not exceed 25 years of age.

Havaldar Age Limit- A candidate must be of a minimum of 18 years of age and must not exceed 27 years of age.

Apart from the pre-mentioned Age Requirement, candidates belonging to reserved categories are given age relaxation as per Government Rules.

Educational Qualification 

A candidate is required to pass Matriculation (10th class) or its equivalent Exam from a recognised State Board, University or Institute to be eligible to apply for SSC MTS 2025 Exam. There is no minimum percentage requirement in class 10th. 

SSC MTS 2025 Language for CBT

For the first time, the SSC MTS computer-based exam will be held in “English, Hindi and 13 regional languages” and the candidates have to choose their choice of language while filling out their application form.

SSC MTS Havaldar 2025 Application Fee

The Application Fee for SSC MTS 2025 is Rs. 100/-. The payment of the application fee can be made only through online payment modes such as Net-Banking, Credit/Debit cards and BHIM, UPI etc.

Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD/Ex-servicemen category are exempted from paying the application fee. In addition to this, female candidates are also exempted from paying the application fee.

Do visit the official website of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) i.e. www.ssc.gov.in.

  1. Click on the “Apply” button at the right corner of the homepage and then click on the link for “Multi Tasking (NonTechnical) Staff, and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) Examination 2025”.
  2. Register for the exam.
  3. Now, proceed to fill out the application form including your educational qualification, age, category, exam center etc.
  4. Pay the application fee.
  5. Take the printout of the application form for future reference.

SSC MTS Havaldar 2025 Selection Process

The eligible candidates for SSC Multi Tasking Staff recruitment will be shortlisted based on three stages. A candidate needs to qualify in each stage with marks more than the cut-off announced. The three stages to be cleared are as below- 

Stage 1- Paper-1 (Objective)

Stage 2- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST) (only for the post of Havaldar)

SSC MTS 2025 Exam Pattern

SSC MTS 2025 will be examined in 2 different levels: Paper-1, PET/PST (only for havaldar). Paper 1 is an online exam that is an objective multiple-choice question type. 

SSC MTS Havaldar Paper-1 Exam Pattern 

The revised SSC MTS Paper 1 Exam Pattern has been shared by the officials last yea. The Paper 1 pattern is the same for both posts There will be a Computer-Based Examination which is divided in 2 Sessions. Session-I and Session-II and both the Sessions will be mandatory to be attempted. There will be a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Session 2 and there will be no negative marking in Session 1.

Note: The SSC MTS written exam is divided into 2 sections. There will be no negative marking in Session 1 and there shall be a negative marking of 1 mark for each incorrect answer in Session 2.

SSC MTS 2025 Syllabus

The written exam syllabus is the same for both posts (MTS and Havaldar) and students must know the entire syllabus to prepare effectively for SSC MTS 2025. Understanding the detailed syllabus will help the candidates to plan a strategy for their preparation.

Indicative Syllabus for Computer Based Examination:
Numerical and Mathematical Ability: It will include questions on problems relating to Integers and Whole Numbers, LCM and HCF, Decimals and Fractions, Relationship between numbers, Fundamental Arithmetic Operations and BODMAS, Percentage, Ratio and Proportions, Work and Time, Direct and inverse Proportions, Averages, Simple Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Area and Perimeter of Basic
Geometric Figures, Distance and Time, Lines and Angles, Interpretation of simple Graphs and Data, Square and Square roots etc.

Reasoning Ability and Problem Solving: The questions in this part intend to measure the candidates’ general learning ability. The questions will be broadly based on Alpha-Numeric Series, Coding and Decoding, Analogy, Following Directions, Similarities and Differences, Jumbling, Problem Solving and Analysis, Non-verbal Reasoning based on diagrams, age Calculations, Calendar and Clock, etc.

General Awareness: The broad coverage of the test will be on Social Studies (History, Geography, Art and Culture, Civics, Economics), General Science and Environmental studies up to 10th Standard.

English Language and Comprehension: Candidates’ understanding of the basics of English Language, its vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms and its correct usage, etc. and to test
comprehension, a simple paragraph may be given and question based on the paragraph to be asked.
