IBPS Clerk Exam 2016: The Pattern
IBPS clerical examination 2016 is going to be conducted in two phases: Preliminary and the mains examination. This year as well, there will be no interview in the process and the marks in the mains examination will be considered for final selection in the banks for the financial year 2017-18:
Prelims: The preliminary examination will be as per the pattern followed last year. There will be a test of 60 minutes with 100 questions. You need to answer 30 questions in English and 35 questions each from reasoning and quantitative aptitude. The marks obtained in this exam will be considered for screening candidates for main examination.
Mains: The mains examination will consist of subjects same as last year i.e. quant, reasoning, English, computer aptitude and general awareness. Each section will have 40 questions though the marks allotted will be 50 marks each for reasoning and quant section whereas the weightage of computer has been increased to 20 marks. Marks for other sections have been kept unchanged at 40. However, the biggest surprise is the introduction of sectional timing in the examination: Quant (30 minutes), GA (25 minutes), Reasoning (30 minutes), English (30 minutes) and computer (20 minutes). That makes the total time for the examination as 135 minutes instead of the previous 120 minutes.
