IBPS Clerk Notification 2025 Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the IBPS CRP Clerks-XV, candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:

Age Limit (as on 01.08.2025): Candidates must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1997 and not later than 01.08.2005 (both dates inclusive).

Minimum: 20 years
Maximum: 28 years
Educational Qualification (as on 21.08.2025): Applicants must hold a Graduation degree in any discipline from a university recognised by the Government of India.

Must possess a valid degree certificate or mark sheet indicating graduation status at the time of online registration. Must enter percentage of marks while applying.

Computer Literacy: Knowledge of computer operations is essential. Candidates must have:

A certificate/diploma/degree in computer operations, OR
Studied Computer/IT as a subject at high school/college/institute level.
Language Proficiency: Proficiency in the official language of the state/UT applied for is preferred. Candidates must be able to read, write, and speak the respective language.

Credit History Requirement: Candidates must maintain a healthy credit history with an acceptable credit score as per the norms of participating banks.

If CIBIL status is not updated before joining, candidates must submit No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from lenders confirming no outstanding dues. Banks reserve the right to withdraw or cancel the offer in case of adverse credit records.

IBPS Clerk Salary
The IBPS Clerk post offers a decent starting salary along with multiple allowances and benefits.

Initial Basic Pay: ₹24,050 per month
Pay Scale: ₹24,050-₹64,480
Gross Monthly Salary: ₹40,000 (approx.), depending on posting location

IBPS Clerk 2025 Exam Pattern
The IBPS Clerk Recruitment 2025 process includes two computer-based tests:

Preliminary Exam

Mode: Online
Total: 100 Questions, 100 Marks, 60 Minutes
Sections:
English Language – 30 Qs, 30 Marks (20 mins)
Numerical Ability – 35 Qs, 35 Marks (20 mins)
Reasoning Ability – 35 Qs, 35 Marks (20 mins)
Note: For every wrong answer in the objective tests, 0.25 marks will be deducted as a penalty.
The selection for IBPS Clerk Notification 2025 has two stages:

  1. Preliminary Exam

First stage of the process
Objective-type online test
Qualifying in nature (marks not counted for final selection)
You must pass this to appear for the mains exam

  1. Mains Exam

Final stage of selection
Marks scored in this exam are considered for final result
No interview is held after the mains exam
Final Selection is based only on the marks obtained in the Mains Exam.

Structure of Examination
I. The structure of the Examinations which will be conducted online are as follows:
a. Preliminary Examination (Objective Test)

Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing cut-off marks to
be decided by IBPS. Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided
by IBPS depending upon requirements will be shortlisted for Online Main
examination.

b. Main Examination (Objective Test)

Penalty for Wrong Answers (Applicable to both – Online Preliminary and Online Main
Examination)
There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question
for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks
assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question
is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that
question.

Cut-off Score (Online Main examination)
Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test of Online Main
Examination and also a minimum total score to be considered for further process.
Depending on number of the State/ UT wise vacancies available, cut-offs will be decided
and candidates will be considered for provisional allotment. Prior to the completion of
provisional allotment process scores obtained in the Online Main Examination will not be
shared with the candidates.
Decision of IBPS in shortlisting and provisional allotment shall be final.

Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT)
 The candidates applying for vacancies of a particular State/UT, should be proficient in
(reading, writing, speaking and understanding) the specified / opted local language of that
State/UT (mentioned in the list provided for each Sate/ UT as per Annexure III).
 Candidate has to opt for ONE language at the time of online application for local language
test from the list provided for each State/ UT as per Annexure III.
 Candidates who produce 10th standard or above mark sheet/ certificate evidencing having
studied the specified/ opted local language will not be required to undergo the language test.
 The test will be conducted after qualifying the Online Main examination/ Provisional
Allotment but before joining the Bank.
 The test for knowledge of specified/ opted local language will be conducted as a part of
selection process by an independent body or by the Bank and will be marks based and
qualifying in nature.
 Candidates who fail to qualify this test will not be offered appointment and will be disqualified
from the process.
