SSC CGL 2016 result declaration in October and expected cut off in tier 1 exam, explained: Now that the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the answer key for CGL tier 1 exam 2016 and most of the aspirants have calculated their marks on the basis of correct answers given in the official answer key, let’s have a look at the expected cut off and when will the results be declared.
As I discussed previously, SSC will announce the result of CGL 2016 tier 1 examination most probably in October first week with least probability of declaration in October-last if SSC delays that far. It’s because SSC has said the Tier 2 exam will tentatively be held in November. So, given that statement, it is safe to assume that SSC CGL result will be coming out early in October.
A total of 14.25 lakh candidates are reported to actually have appeared for the examination out of approximate 25 lakh who had applied. SSC released the answer keys last week on Sept 21 and candidates were allowed to make representations till 26th September.
As is the case for cut off in CGL tier-1 exam, it is expected to be somewhere between 112-122 marks. The prediction is based on the report and data compiled by SSC Adda, the website which has taken thousand of candidates’ responses in consideration. The site also states that most of candidates are saying to have scored at least 130 marks based on their evaluation off official answer keys. Now, how high or low the cut off will go, that will be known when SSC officially announces the result and the cut-off.
The results will be announced in merit list format, shortlisting the candidates who will secure marks above a minimum set cut-off marks. The cut off is usually set considering the number of candidates who took the test and the difficulty level of the test. Easier the exam is, higher the number of candidates obtaining high marks will be and the cut off marks will then be set on the upper level. The tougher the exam is, cut off is likely to go down.
The process of making representations ended on 26th Sept and considering that SSC will take few days to sort out the representations, expect an official notice sometime next week in which SSC may reveal more details for upcoming schedule of events.
