SSC CPO 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who wish to apply for SSC CPO Recruitment 2026 must fulfill the eligibility criteria prescribed by the Staff Selection Commission. The eligibility requirements mainly include nationality/citizenship, educational qualification, and age limit.

SSC CPO SI Nationality/Citizenship

A candidate must be:

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification.

Candidates appearing in their final year of graduation may also be eligible subject to the conditions specified in the official SSC CPO 2026 notification.

For Sub-Inspector (Executive) in Delhi Police – Male Candidates

In addition to the required bachelor’s degree, male candidates applying for the Sub-Inspector (Executive) post in Delhi Police must possess a valid Driving Licence for Light Motor Vehicles (LMV), including motorcycle and car, as on the date prescribed for the Physical Endurance and Measurement Tests.

Male candidates who do not possess the required valid driving licence will not be allowed to appear for the Physical Endurance and Measurement Tests for the Delhi Police SI post.

SSC CPO SI Age Limit

The prescribed age limit for SSC CPO is generally 20 to 25 years.

SSC CPO 2026 Exam Pattern

The SSC CPO Paper 1 and Paper 2 examinations consist of objective-type multiple-choice questions.

  • Paper 1 consists of four sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Knowledge & General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension.
  • Paper 1 questions are available in Hindi and English, except for the English Comprehension section.
  • Paper 2 consists of questions on English Language and Comprehension and is conducted in English.
  • There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer in both Paper 1 and Paper 2.

SSC CPO 2026 Syllabus

Paper 2 is dedicated to English Language and Comprehension. The paper evaluates candidates’ ability to understand and use English effectively.
