The UT Education Department had initially submitted its proposal to the Ministry of Human Resource Development on November 2. The MHRD sent it back to the UT, with Minister Smriti Irani\u2019s directive that Kher\u2019s suggestions be incorporated.<\/p>\n<p>In her proposals for promotion of \u2018peace education\u2019, Kher has suggested that \u201cpeace clubs\u201d and libraries should be set up in schools, and supplementary reading material should be made available to further promote \u201cpeace skills\u201d. Further, she has suggested that a pool of films and documentaries that promote values of justice and peace should also be screened in schools. She has also recommended that schools organise activities to promote India\u2019s religious and cultural activities, and Human Rights Day, Girl Child Day, Environment Day etc should be observed in schools.
