To avoid this, we have taken a decision and will implement the scheme,\u201d the Minister said. The Minister reiterated that the government was against the detention system in school education. He said the government was yet to provide full scale infrastructure, facilities and teachers in the state-run schools.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf the detention system is introduced at this juncture, it will adversely affect students belonging to the weaker sections. We have taken a decision to go against the detention and same is communicated to the Central government,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>On the privatisation of school education, of the 60 lakh students, 50 per cent were in the government schools and rest in the private sector.\u00a0\u201cAt this juncture you cannot discourage private sector. Both the Central and State governments are not in position to take the total burden,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The onus was on the government, teachers and stakeholders to build high education standards in the state-run educational institutions, he said. \u00a0Srihari urged the teachers to come forward and give their recommendations for formulating new education policy proposed by Central government. \u00a0\u201cIf required, convene a national meet on new educational policy and put your recommendations before the government,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The two-day convention being hosted by Telangana State United Teachers Federation discussed about the women reservation bill, rights of girls and women, resolution on rights of girls &#038; women was also placed and approved.
