{"id":15103,"date":"2020-01-09T10:34:17","date_gmt":"2020-01-09T05:04:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/race4job.com\/blog\/?p=15103"},"modified":"2020-01-09T10:34:32","modified_gmt":"2020-01-09T05:04:32","slug":"english-language-47","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.race4job.com\/blog\/english-language-47\/","title":{"rendered":"English Language"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Directions (1-6): <\/strong>Read the following passage carefully and answer the questions given below it.\u00a0 Certain words have been printed in <strong>bold <\/strong>to help you locate them while answering some of the questions.<\/p>\n<p>The great sage once had a group of disciples.\u00a0 They were all very <strong>bright <\/strong>and eager students and the sage had all the reasons to be proud of them.\u00a0 One day the sage realized that he had imparted enough knowledge to his disciples.\u00a0 Now they were all very learned.\u00a0 There was only one thing the sage had not taught them, and that was the special verse that could bring the dead back to life.\u00a0 The sage knew that such knowledge was too wonderful and could prove to be a dangerous thing in the hands of someone who was not very wise. The sage <strong>pondered <\/strong>over this for a long time.\u00a0 But he also knew that if he did not pass on this secret verse, it could die with him.\u00a0 So, at last he called his cleverest disciple aside and said \u201c I am going to teach you very special\u00a0 verse.\u00a0 If you chant this never misuse or test you powers vainly.\u201d\u00a0 He then called all the disciples together and said, \u201cI am sending you all into the forest for forty days.\u00a0 Go together and come back together.\u00a0 Each one of you has to guide one another and do good things\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>So the disciples started out together into the forest. \u00a0They were all united.\u00a0 But the clever disciple who knew the verse wanted to show he was better than the other.\u00a0 As they walked into the forest, they came across a dead tiger on the way.\u00a0 It was huge and looked wickedly <strong>fierce <\/strong>even when dead.\u00a0 The clever disciple stopped and said to the other, \u201cNow I am going to show you what our teacher has taught me alone.\u00a0 He has taught me how to bring life back into dead\u201d.\u00a0 The others would not believe him and he said, \u201cI would prove it to you by bringing this tiger back to anything to prove your knowledge vainly.\u00a0 Moreover, if you put life into this tiger, it will only turn on us and kill us all.\u00a0 This will not be a wise thing to do\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>But the clever disciple had decided to prove himself and prepared to recite the verse.\u00a0 But before he did so, the other disciples scrambled up to the topmost branches of a big tree nearby.\u00a0 The disciple then recited the magical verse.\u00a0 The tiger slowly began to breathe.\u00a0 \u201cit\u2019s working\u201d <strong>cried <\/strong>the disciple in excitement and joy.\u00a0 The tiger opened its eyes and saw him jumping and shouting in front of him.\u00a0 Roaring loudly, the tiger <strong>pounced <\/strong>on the poor disciple and killed him.<\/p>\n<p>The other disciples on the tree watched helplessly as the tiger threw down the dead body of the disciple and went away into the forest. After some time the disciples came down, took the body and went to the sage.\u00a0 The sage looked at them and said, \u201cNow you see what can happen if you don\u2019t use your learning wisely.\u00a0 Let this be a lesson for you.\u201d With that, the sage uttered the magic verse and brought the dead disciple back to life.
