The post has\u00a0been lying vacant following\u00a0resignation of Infosys co-founder\u00a0Nandan Nilekani’s resignation in\u00a02014. The Appointments\u00a0Committee of Cabinet has\u00a0approved Satyanarayana’s\u00a0appointment as part-time\u00a0chairperson of UIDAI, an order\u00a0issued by Department of Personnel\u00a0and Training said.\u00a0Satyanarayana, an IAS officer of\u00a01977 batch belonging to Andhra\u00a0Pradesh cadre, retired as Secretary,\u00a0Department of Electronics and\u00a0Information Technology. Besides\u00a0him, technocrats Rajesh Jain and\u00a0Anand Deshpande have been\u00a0appointed as part-time members of\u00a0the UIDAI. Jain is founder and\u00a0Managing Director of netCORE\u00a0solutions, an Information\u00a0Technology based firm.Deshpande is founder and Chief\u00a0Executive Officer of Persistent\u00a0Systems, a global company\u00a0specialising in software product\u00a0development services.
